Novel Phases and Phase Transitions in Strongly Correlated Electrons

报告摘要:Understanding strongly correlated electrons is an important long-term goal, not only for uncovering fundamental physics behind, but also for their emergence of lots of novel states which are potentially being used in quantum control and quantum computations. Meanwhile, the strongly correlated electrons are usually extremely hard problems, especially for a complete unbiased understanding. In this talk, I will summarize our efforts on unbiased numeric understanding of several novel phases and phase transitions, such as gapless quantum spin liquids, the itinerant quantum criticality, the competition between unconventional superconductivity and magnetism, as well as the recent found correlated phases and phase transitions in moiré quantum matter.

报告人简介:许霄琰,上海交通大学物理与天文学院副教授,2012年从华中科技大学毕业,2017年在中科院物理研究所获得博士学位。先后在香港科技大学、美国加州大学圣迭戈分校从事博士后研究。2021年回国工作,任课题组长、博士生导师,主要从事强关联电子体系的理论和计算,包括量子自旋液体、非费米液体、符号问题、量子临界性等。已发表SCI论文30篇,其中PRL 5篇、PRX 3篇、PNAS 1篇、Nat. Commun. 1篇,论文累计引用1000余次(google scholar)。
