ICAM-China Research Summit for Emerging Scientists Held at Yangtze River Delta Physics Research Center

The first ICAM-China Research Summit for Emerging Scientists, co-sponsored by ICAM-China and the Yangtze River Delta Physics Research Center, was held at the Yangtze River Delta Physics Research Center in Liyang, Jiangsu on October 18, 2021. Nearly 30 doctoral supervisors from domestic universities and research institutes, including Academician Tang Chao of Peking University, Prof. Zhang Fuchun of Kavli Institute for Theoretical Sciences (KITS), Prof. Hu Jiangping of the Institute of Physics, Chinese Academy of Sciences (IOP, CAS), Prof. Wang Bogen and Prof. Ma Yuqiang of Nanjing University, Prof. Zhang Zhenyu of University of Science and Technology of China, and Prof. Zhao Jinkui and Prof. Tang Leihan of Songshan Lake Materials Laboratory, participated in this event. Prof. Wu Fan of the Yangtze River Delta Physics Research Center, gave an invited presentation.
Featuring scientific talks of graduating Ph.D. students and young postdoctoral fellows, this summit aims to build an interactive communication platform between doctoral supervisors and potential postdocs through academic exchanges and presentations, promote the flow of excellent Ph.D. graduates among research institutions, and help young scholars in their future career planning and development.
The summit is also broadcast live on the platform of the IOP Academic Service Department. Twenty-eight young scholars from 12 universities and research institutions made oral presentations, and 10 other young scholars shared their latest work progress and results in the form of posters. The participating supervisors and young scholars also had heated discussions on related scientific issues.
Guan Guoye of Peking University, Ding Wenjun of the University of Science and Technology of China, and Guan Mengxue of IOP, CAS, were awarded the 2021 "ICAM-China Emerging Scientist Award". Academician Tang Chao presented the awards to the winners.
