Center for Ultrafast Physics
Established in 2021 by IOP, the Center for Ultrafast Physics (CUP) is dedicated to integrating ultrafast optics with condensed matter physics and materials science. With the construction of the Advanced Attosecond Laser Infrastructure (AALI) as its core mission, CUP strives to build a globally influential base for scientific research and technological innovation across a broad spectrum of frontier fields, with a particular focus on ultrafast science.
Situated in Dongguan, a key hub in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, and adjacent to the China Spallation Neutron Source, CUP currently hosts more than 80 principal investigators, as well as over 50 postdoctoral researchers and graduate students.
