On December 31, 2022, the Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS) held the 2023 New Year's Eve Science Speech. With the theme of "Scientific Power on the Road of Rejuvenation", the event was broadcast on the internet, bringing a hardcore scientific feast for all viewers.

The New Year's Eve Science Speech is a popular science brand activity organized by CAS to "Popularize High-end Scientific Research Resources" and implement the "Science and China" Scientific Education Plan. The first session was held at the Institute of Physics (IOP) of CAS in 2019, which pioneered the domestic New Year's Science Speech and has been successfully held for four consecutive years. Over the past four years, the event has been enriched and upgraded, from a 2-hour New Year's Eve live broadcast by Cao Zexian in 2019 to three consecutive days with a total length of over 8 hours last year. This year, the 2023 new-year science lectures are once again innovative, with over 15 hours of continuous non-stop live streaming, in which Nobel laureates, experts, scholars, and science professionals were involved in diverse and informative lectures, visits, salons, and slow live broadcasts.
