Research Interests:
My research is to explore and understand the novel physical properties of functional oxide thin films (including heterostructures and composites) for advanced applications in electronics and optoelectronics. One of the key factors to determine the properties of the thin films is the effect induced by interface which might be engineered artificially in atomic scale by using laser molecular beam epitaxy system. For example, if a ferromagnetic oxide is grown next to an insulating ferroelectric oxide, the electric and magnetic polarization might be both controlled by an external applied electrical or magnetic field, showing the coupling between the ferroelectric and magnetic orders by the interface effect.
