Center for Ultrafast Physics
In 2021, IOP established the Center for Ultrafast Physics (CUP) to bridge the fields of ultrafast sciences and physical sciences. With a core mission of developing the Advanced Attosecond Laser Infrastructure, CUP aims to establish a global hub for ultrafast scientific research and technological innovation with international impact.
Adjacent to the China Spallation Neutron Source, the Center is situated in Dongguan City, a key hub within the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area. It boasts over 50 principal investigators and more than 50 postdoctoral fellows and postgraduate students.
In 2013, attosecond pulses were first realized in China by IOP scientists.
