Professor Gu Lin Wins Special Prize of China Youth Science and Technology Award

The award ceremony of the 16th China Youth Science and Technology Award was held at the opening ceremony of the World Young Scientist Summit 2020 on October 18. In total, 100 people won China Youth Science and Technology Awards, and 10 won special prizes. Prof. Gu Lin from the Institute of Physics (IOP), Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS) won the special prize of China Youth Science and Technology Award.

At the event, Huai Jinpeng, Party Secretary, Executive Vice Chairman and First Secretary of the Secretariat of the Association for China Science and Technology (CAST), Xu Xiao, Secretary of the Secretariat of the Central Committee of the Communist Youth League, and Chen Weijun, Member of the Standing Committee of Zhejiang Provincial Party Committee and Wenzhou Municipal Party Secretary and other honored guests presented awards to the winners for their outstanding achievements in carrying forward the spirit of scientists in the new era, in building China into a country powerful in science and technology, and in basic research, engineering science and technology, science popularization, and science commercialization.

The China Youth Science and Technology Award is launched by the Organization Department of the CPC Central Committee, the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Security, CAST and the Central Committee of the Communist Young League, to encourage young scientific and technological talents who have made outstanding contributions to the country's economic development, social progress, and scientific and technological innovation, and inspire their passion in innovation, creation and entrepreneurship.
