From June 7 to 9, the International Workshop on Surfaces and Interfaces of Quantum Materials, sponsored by Group SF06 and SF08 of the Laboratory for Surface Physics and Group L03 of the Laboratory of Optical Physics, was successfully held at the Institute of Physics (IOP) of the Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS). The online and offline workshop attracted more than 130 experts, scholars and postgraduates from famous scientific research institutions and universities at home and abroad. It is the 10th in a series of international workshops on low-dimensional structures of complex materials sponsored by IOP, with an aim to promote international academic exchanges in this field and provide a cooperation platform for domestic and foreign researchers.
Twenty-one domestic and foreign experts in the field of low-dimensional quantum materials were invited to give keynote speeches and introduce the latest research progress in related fields. The main topics of this workshop included: topological electronic states and novel magnetic ground states of surfaces/interfaces, magnetism and multiferroicity of interfaces, theoretical study on novel electronic states and magnetic ground states of interfaces, detection of electronic states of interfaces and study on collective excited states, etc. The participants had in-depth exchanges and heated discussions, and the workshop was a great success.
