2025 IOP Mini Symposium on Ultrafast Science Held on Huairou Campus

Date:29-05-2025 Print

The 2025 IOP Mini Symposium on Ultrafast Science was held from May 13 to 15, 2025 at the Huairou Campus of the Institute of Physics (IOP), Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS). More than 60 experts and young scholars from various countries and regions, including China, Germany, Switzerland, Russia, Italy, and Japan, attended the symposium to jointly discuss the cutting-edge progress and future development directions in the field of ultrafast science.

Professor Zhiyi Wei from IOP delivered a welcome speech, introducing to domestic and international experts the Synergetic Extreme Condition User Facility (SECUF), as well as the Advanced Attosecond Laser Infrastructure currently under construction, along with their important application prospects in the field of ultrafast science. Subsequently, invited speakers delivered presentations. They shared the latest research progress in fields such as ultrafast laser technology, attosecond science, and X-ray free-electron lasers.

During the symposium, participants visited the ultrafast experimental station of SECUF. They conducted in-depth exchanges, jointly explored the application prospects of ultrafast science in fields such as atomic and molecular physics, materials science, chemical reaction dynamics, and biomedicine, and put forward valuable opinions and suggestions for future research directions.

This symposium was co-hosted by IOP Center for Ultrafast Physics and SECUF. This symposium has provided new ideas and directions for the research of the center in the field of ultrafast science, and also laid a solid foundation for in-depth and extensive international academic cooperation relying on national major science and technology infrastructure in the future.
