Ever wondered how influential journals select content for publication and how peer review works? In this talk, I will discuss the editorial process at these journals, which typically rely on professional editors, focusing particularly on the Cell Press portfolio and introducing Newton, our newly launched flagship physics journal. I will also share my views on current trends in scientific publishing and provide tips on how to maximize the fit of your manuscript for high-impact journals and on how to deliver an appropriate reviewer report if you are invited to review a manuscript.

报告人简介：

Elisa obtained her PhD in physics from the University of Cambridge and worked as a research scientist at the Hitachi Cambridge Laboratory. Her experimental work on semiconductor spintronics included the design, fabrication, and characterization of devices by magneto-transport and magneto-optical measurements. Elisa joined Cell Press in 2021 as Head of Research Integrity and Author Experience after having acquired extensive editorial and ublishing experience working as an editor at Nature Nanotechnology, Nature Energy, and as Editor-in-Chief at Nature Communications. After a stint as Director of Author Experience in 2023, she became the founding Editor-in-Chief at Newton in 2024, where she pursues her passions for physics and excellent author service.
