Abstracts
The report deals with the hydride technology developed at the IChHPS RAS (Institute of Chemistry of High-Purity Substances of the Russian Academy of Sciences) for preparing high-purity isotopic varieties of silicon and germanium, including methods for preparation, ultra purification and analysis of volatile precursors and simple elements. Results are presented on the study of a number of properties of the prepared single crystals and the potential applications of Si and Ge isotopes are listed.

Brief bio:
Professor Andrei D. Bulanov is the Acting director of the Institute of Chemistry of High-Purity Substances of Russian Academy of Sciences (IChHPS RAS) in Nizhny Novgorod, Head of Laboratory of Special Purity Substances. He graduated from Nizhny Novgorod State University, Chemistry Department, in 1984 and received a PhD at IChHPS RAS in 1992 in the field of preparation and investigation of the properties of high-purity zinc dichloride.
He received the next academic degree D.Sc. (Chem.) in 2006 at IChHPS RAS in the field of preparation of high-purity monoisotopic silanes 28SiH4, 29SiH4 and 30SiH4.
Since 1995 he is engaged in different aspects of preparation and investigation of the properties of monoisotopic varieties of silicon, germanium, iron, sulfur, selenium. He is a responsible executive on the part of IChHPS RAS in the International projects Avogadro, Kilogram-2 and Kilogram-3.
He is a co-author of more than 170 scientific papers.
